Candlewood Suites Texarkana, an IHG Hotel

I had actually booked a room at another hotel but canceled because the manager was very rude and professional. I'm glad I did because Candlewood Suite's rates were better, and my dogs and I had a very nice stay. The staff was excellent: very friendly, pleasant, helpful and the facilities were very accommodating. I traveled with two dogs (very reasonable pet fee BTW) and requested either a ground floor or room close to the elevator to be able to take the dogs out quickly and they were very nice to accommodate our needs. Very pet friendly with lots of other dogs there. Although, they don't usually serve food, they did the day before and the day of the solar eclipse just to give their guests a treat. They do make coffee available which is very important to me, and they have a modest commissary where snacks can be purchased. There are an abundance of places to eat that are easily accessible so not having a breakfast was no big deal.

I'm a 23-year-old woman driving across the country by myself, and I felt safe here. There was plenty of free parking around the hotel. It was great to stay one night to recharge, and it is a quite place. Plus, the staff lady is super helpful.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. Furniture is nothing special , but it is clean. NO BUGS AT ALL; Which is a plus. It has a full refrigerator, 2 burner stovetop, small sink, dishes, utensils, pots and pans. Really everything you need for an extended stay. They offer a free washer and dryer, you just have to bring your own detergent. The stay here was worth the price we paid. Lastly, the customer service here was awesome.Very friendly and helpful.

Loved the suite! Two beds each had their own room.

The lady who checked me in was amazing, she was polite and friendly. She also helped with food in the area, so I didn't have to go far. I actually ended up ordering through uber eats.
